Sturdy yet streamlined, the Tacx Satori Bike Trainer is a super power trainer infused with a number of subtle yet brilliant innovations introduced by pro-road racer and Tour de France competitor, Jens Voigt.
Tacx Satori Trainer – the design
The design of the Tacx Satori turbo trainer is geared toward high power training, sprinting and brute force. The extra wide ergonomic frame stands firmly on the floor allowing you to safely stand up and do sprints without wobbling or shaking. Despite this design, the Tacx Satori turbo trainer easily folds into tight spaces and is a great space-saver.
In terms of braking action, the Neodymium magnetic system is really in a league of its own. (On the side, a neodymium magnet is a rare earth magnet and is the strongest type of permanent magnet known to mankind). The brake on the Tacx Satori turbo trainer consists of a very powerful Neodymium magnet and an extra large steel flywheel which is 125mm in diameter.
Resistance Range of the Tax Satori
The position of the magnet relative to the flywheel is adjusted with the 10-position remote resistance lever which is attached to the handlebars. This results in a magnetic field, creating the possibility to carry out workouts with high power at a low pedaling frequency on the Tacx Satori Bike Trainer. For example, it is possible to reach as much as 400 Watt with a speed of only 27 km/h.
Riding the Tacx Satori turbo trainer is much like riding on the road. The feel of the resistance and the ability to create tension creates a very real experience. Adjusting the resistance using the remote is simple and seamless and allows you to increase your resistance as you warm up.
Noise of the Tacx Satori Turbo Trainer
But as with all turbo trainers, one of the biggest concerns is the noise. Although opinions are varied on the Tacx Satori turbo trainer, it is nevertheless designed to be quiet with its sound deadening feet. Of course, as your speed increases and you spin faster, it can make a whirring noise but I would recommend turning up your music or tv at this point. I wouldnt recommend using the Tacx Satori turbo trainer in the middle of the night if you might disturb someone.
The Tacx Satori Bike Trainer isnt difficult to assemble but does require some care. A quick release skewer and front wheel riser are in the box so you will have everything you need to get going. The front wheel riser fits neatly in between the axle supports and doubles up as a carry handle which is really handy. One thing to keep in mind is that after using the Tacx Satori turbo trainer for an extensive period of time, the flywheel can reach high temperatures so be careful when touching it.

Reasonably easy to set up, took just a matter of a few minutes. Easy to use and a lot quieter than anticipated. Smooth action and the resistance lever is very easy to set up and use. For a home use training device either for those cold wet and windy days where you just dont want to go out or as a pre or post ride warm up warm down then look no further than the Satori.
Overall very satisfied for the price.
I bought this trainer for training at home in winter and to warm up before a big ride. The main problem about this trainer is the noise, it actually sounds like dentist drill when going fast. If you don’t wear headphones, you are going to have a headache after an hour cycling.
