3LC Training Videos – Launching Soon

Climbing MASTER72 low res 3LC Training Videos Launching SoonThis is fresh in, Three Legs Cycling Ltd (3LC) is launching a unique indoor training series featuring world champion Mark Cavendish. The sessions have been designed to appeal to cyclists of all abilities.

They have produced 5 different DVDs so far which are each designed to help you train for a specific discipline. Whether you need to improve your sprinting, climbing or time trialing you will find a DVD to suit you.

The format of the videos is studio based with plenty of guidance and motivation from the pros and from what we’ve seen and heard so far it looks pretty good.

As soon as they are available we will be getting our hands on a copy and will post a full review in the training video section when we do.

This looks like a great alternative to the archive footage based training videos out there and there aren’t any better to measure yourself against than Mark Cavendish.

If you don’t ride yourself but know someone who does then this would probably make a great gift. icon smile 3LC Training Videos Launching Soon

North Sea Cycle Route

NSCRmap 200x200 North Sea Cycle RouteIf you are looking for something to help you stay motivated throughout the winter, how about planning a stunning cycle tour in spring or summer?

The North Sea Cycle Route is a great long distance route that can be cycled in it’s entirety or in individual parts.

Check out Jon & Frank’s website where they have a good description of the entire route and it’s individual parts.

They have told me that they think the Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Scottish sections are the best and having done some cycling in a few of those countries I’d be inclined to agree.

Happy cycling.

Ozone pollution is risky business

Ozone Pollution 200x200 Ozone pollution is risky businessAs we all become increasingly aware of our carbon footprints and the importance of recycling, ozone pollution is still a reality and one which we have to factor in when going for a ride.

While pollution is of course unavoidable, studies have shown that when reaching 100 ppb (parts per billion), the ozone causes serious damage to the lung tissue and red blood cells when inhaled. To put this into perspective, the level of ozone in Central London ranges from 99-170 ppb and 119-137 in Washington, D.C centre at midday. [Read more...]

Bicycore Trainer – Trains Core Muscle Groups

BicyCore 200x139 Bicycore Trainer Trains Core Muscle GroupsJust seen a cool looking device over at the Bicycore Website. It’s called the BicyCore and is designed to engage all of the muscles that get neglected through stationary cycle training on turbo trainers and stationary exercise bikes.

You supposedly stand on it as if it were a bike and engage all core muscle groups by trying to not fall over.

Could be a useful device for cycle training. Tell us what you think in the comments.

Check out the BicyCore website here.

So, you’ve spent the winter on your trainer and feel ready to hit the roads, you’ve got a few races coming up and you think that all of your hard work over the winter is really going to pay dividends. Excellent, but don’t pack your trainer away just yet, you’re going to be needing it…

I think my inner response to that would be: “Why? I’ve spent enough time on my trainer, I love it but I just want to get out racing.” [Read more...]
